Marketing industry trends have developed and are still evolving. Consumers now rarely respond to traditional marketing strategies like they used to.

It might work well for brands that are already well-known, but what about small eCommerce businesses?

What options do they have? Is there any chance of survival for them?

Well, there is and they’ve got several fantastic options.

One such option is working with TikTok creators on influencer marketing platforms to tell their brand’s story.

This is also called an influencer marketing strategy.

Well, that’s what we’ll talk about in this piece.

When we’re done, you’ll have learned:

  • Why working with influencers on TikTok is a good idea
  • How to find the best creators and influencers to work with on TikTok campaigns

Without further ado, let’s get down to business!

Is Working with TikTok Influencers & Creators Worth It?

The short answer is yes and that’s not because everyone else is doing it.

You see, working with creators on TikTok will ensure that your marketing campaigns produce the kind of results you want.

If this is going to be your first attempt at launching an ad campaign on the social media platform, understanding TikTok yourself might be a bit challenging.

But, collaborations with content creators on TikTok will make this easy for you.

They already know what the typical user is looking for so you’ll be leveraging that knowledge in your TikTok campaigns

Well, that’s not all you get!

We’ve added some more benefits below.

Benefit #1: Reach new audiences and niche communities

Partnering with the right influencers will help you reach more people within your niche

We know you’re wondering how.

Well, creators or influencers are social media users who have an impressive follower count.

When you partner with them, they’ll give you access to their audience

And if they’re in the same niche as you, there’s a good chance you’ll reach people who are yet to know about your brand.

Also because TikTok users respect recommendations from creators and influencers, it’s easy for their posts to get high engagement rates and shares

58% of consumers have already said they rely on creators and influencers to get ideas on what products to shop for.

That means an increase in brand awareness when you partner with them.

What else?

If you decide to transform the content the creator produces into an ad (Spark Ads), you can create and target Lookalike audiences who share similar interests with your current target audience.

Benefit #2: Create cost-effective social media campaigns

Launching an ad campaign in collaboration with creators is less expensive on TikTok compared to other social platforms.

In other words, you can maintain your budget and get a great return on ad spend (ROAS).

We know you’re wondering how this is possible, so here’s how:

First, the cost of creators on TikTok to produce video content alone is from $40 to over $180 depending on the number of followers they have, the campaign requirements, and other factors.

If they decide to let you run Spark ads from their account, it will cost you from $80 to over $300.

Now, let’s say you want to use their TikTok content to run ads.

On TikTok, the cost per mille (CPM) was $1 and the cost per click (CPC) was $0.19 according to a 2020 report.

When you compare these prices with those on other social apps, you’ll discover that collaborating with creators on TikTok is cost-efficient.

For example, CPM on Facebook cost 1.28€ (around $1.25).

So you see, that means cost-efficient campaigns!

Benefit #3: Convert leads

Working with creators can help you reach new audiences and convert them.

In other words, creators help place your product or service in front of potential customers so they can eventually buy from you

Consumers are usually happy to see creators’ posts because they trust them.

If the post features your product, viewers begin to imagine themselves using it just like the creator did in the video.

When that happens, it becomes easy for leads to become customers

Studies have shown that ads on TikTok featuring creators increase ad recall by 27%.

When BlendJet, an eCommerce brand, wanted to drive sales for their portable blenders, they partnered with TkTok creators to produce content for them.

Then, they promoted the creatives as Spark ads.

The result?

They got over 400k clicks, 12k conversions, and a click-through rate of 1.43%.

Isn’t that impressive?

Let’s go to the fun part!

Find TikTok Influencers & Creators in 2 Simple Ways

Now that we’ve shown you why partnering with creators is a good idea, it’s only right we show you how to find them.

There are two options available when you use our influencer discovery tool, Insense.

One involves you filling out a brief and the other has to do with you searching with different filters.

Both ways are simple and direct.

So we’re confident you’ll find the best influencers and micro-influencers for your campaign in no time.

Let’s begin!

1. Create a TikTok campaign using Insense

Insense is a creator marketplace that optimizes working with creators and influencers at different levels of your marketing campaign.

You can begin your influencer search by creating a TikTok campaign with Insense.

How do you do that?

First, go to our homepage to sign up by clicking the Try it out button or log in by tapping Log In bule button.

Once you’re in, this is the next page you’ll see—the dashboard.

Click the +New campaign button to proceed.

You’ll be taken to another page where you’ll need to fill out a creative brief.

What’s a creative brief?

The brief is like an online form where you’ll indicate what type of content you want the creator to produce and the kind of creator or influencer you’d like to work with.

This way, it will be much easier to find what you’re looking for.

Let’s show you how to fill out the brief.

The first section (left-hand side of the page) you’ll see and be able to fill out is the Campaign Info.

Here, you’ll need to:

  • Choose or add a brand for your campaign
  • Input a name for the campaign
  • Select the type of campaign; tap Influencer Partnerships if you want to run Spark ads and Just Content if you need the creator to produce user-generated content (UGC)
  • Choose TikTok as the platform for which you want to use the content
  • Select the duration you want the ad to run for (if you selected Influencer Partnership)
Campaign Info
  • Choose the number of creators you want to hire
  • Input your budget range
  • Select a campaign goal—Conversions or Reach

When this is done, the next section will be unlocked so you can continue filling out the brief.

And on the right side of the screen, you’ll get to see how it will appear on a mobile device.

Looks cool, right?

Let’s continue!

In the next section, you need to enter information about your product.

Creative Assets

That includes:

  • Uploading a high-quality image of your product
  • Deciding how you want to send your product to creators (if it’s a physical product)
  • Writing a brief description about the product or service so creators learn all they need to about it

Now, on to the extra fun part—the Creators section!

…we know you’ve been looking forward to this.

Well, here we are, and you need to be as specific as possible so we know what you’re looking for.

Creative Brief

First, decide if you want the brief to be public (available to all the creators that match your criteria) or private (if you want to manually add them).

Then, define your Desired creator’s profile by using different filters such as:

  • Location
  • Engagement rate (ER)
  • Categories (specific niche)
  • Followers
  • Views
  • Age
  • Gender and more!

There are some optional details you might want to provide in this section such as:

  • Links to examples of your ideal creators
  • Screening questions
  • Whether you want to send the brief to creators you’ve worked with in the past
  • Whether you want to handpick creators for the campaign

Next is the Creative Asset section where you’ll provide information about the kind of influencer content you want

Creative Brief

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Select Video as your preferred ad creative since it’s to be used on the TikTok app
  • Decide whether the content produced will be posted by the creator on their TikTok account by clicking Posting or No Posting
  • Select the minimum and maximum duration of the video
  • Choose Raw Footage if you want unedited content, Ready to use Ads if you want edited content, and Ready to use Ads + Raw Footage if you want both edited and raw content
  • Select Music required
  • Specify the content type which can be testimonials, product demos, unboxing videos, how-tos, and more.
  • Provide detailed instructions to creators on what the content should look like
  • Inform creators about what should be avoided
  • Add an example of similar content you like
  • Click Save or Add creative if you want different ones

What else?

Well, what remains are just a few things you may want to add to the brief and that depends on if you want the creator to:

  • Tag your brand in their post
  • Add hashtags to the post

If the answer is yes in both cases, you’ll have to add your brand’s handle and the hashtags you want them to use.

Finally, click the Send to review button at the top right corner of the page to get the brief approved.

The moment it’s approved, you’ll start receiving applications and proposals from relevant influencers and creators.

That said, let’s look at the second way to find different types of influencers and creators on TikTok.

2. Head over to the Insense Creator Marketplace

This option is available for people who like to find creators manually. It’s like the Google search engine but for influencers and creators 😉.

Don’t worry, it’s also quite straightforward too.

To get started, let’s go back to your dashboard where it all began in the previous method.

Click on Marketplace as seen in the screenshot below:

You will be directed to our marketplace which is a great alternative to the TikTok creator marketplace.

Here’s a screenshot so you know you’re on the right path when you see this:

Creator Marketplace

What should you do next?

Click on All platforms on the left-hand side of the screen and select TikTok.

Then, begin your TikTok influencer search by using filters such as categories, ethnicity, followers, ER, price, views, and more to search for creators you can work with for influencer marketing campaigns.

Insense will display creators as you select different filters on our influencer search tool.

So, you can take a look at their profiles and portfolios from campaigns they’ve worked on.

You’ll get to see different metrics such as audience demographics, views, etc.

If you like what you see after checking out their profiles, click on the + sign over their thumbnail to add them to the Creators list on the right-hand side of the screen.

You can add as many creators as you want.

Then, click Create campaign to proceed.

Enter a campaign name and select Create campaign.

You will be taken to the brief page where you’ll input all the required details about your campaign just as we discussed in the first option.

When you’re done filling out the brief, hit the Send to review button.

Once it’s approved, it’ll be sent to the creators you selected.

…and the collaboration can begin.

Let’s tie this up!
