Black Friday is the Super Bowl of paid social.

Every brand wants in on the action, but the cost of taking part keeps climbing.

During BFCM 2025, Meta CPM increased about 7.8% year over year to $22.26, while Meta still accounted for 67.6% of tracked ad spend. Current 2026 analysis covers 33,000+ shops and $606.6M in BFCM ad spend

Basically, it’s getting more expensive than ever to show up in people’s feeds and even harder to stand out when you do.

That’s why you can’t afford to wing it.

You need a plan that builds momentum early, warms up your audience before the chaos hits, and scales the Black Friday FB ads that actually perform when CPMs spike.

This guide gives you exactly that. Here’s our tried-and-tested 6-week Facebook ads playbook packed with creative examples, budget pacing advice, and practical strategies you can apply right now to survive (and actually thrive) during BFCM.

Your Black Friday Facebook Ads Strategy

Here’s how to make every dollar work harder during the busiest shopping season.

Audience Segmentation

Because you have such a limited time during Black Friday to grab people’s attention, it’s important to segment your audience so you can reach the right people at the right time.

It’s a good idea to start with three buckets:

  • Warm audiences (a.k.a. anyone who’s engaged, visited your site, or added something to their cart in the last 90 days).
  • Existing customers (a.k.a. your email list, recent buyers, and particularly loyal customers).
  • Broad lookalikes (a.k.a. new audiences that Meta finds for you based on your existing customers).

Note: Warm and existing audiences will drive the bulk of conversions early in the week, while broad lookalikes will help you scale once your creative proves it works.

Creative and Offer Alignment

This is where you make sure your messaging and visuals actually match the audience you want to reach and your goal of the campaign.

Each ad group should have one clear offer. Don’t be tempted to stack discounts or add loads of CTAs, because that can muddy the waters. Instead, stick to one hero product with one irresistible deal.

Your creatives should also look like they belong in November. So, use festive colors and gifting cues, but still stay on-brand. And, because the competition is so incredibly fierce during BFCM, make sure your hooks are short and punchy, and that your discount or value prop is clear in the first three seconds.

Budget Pacing

Starting small and scaling intentionally is the best way to go during BFCM.

Begin with steady daily budgets through early November, then ramp up 20-30% per day as your ads start performing consistently. This will ultimately protect your return on ad spend (ROAS) and it gives Meta’s algorithm a bit of time to adjust before CPMs hit the roof during the Black Friday weekend.

Don’t forget to keep checking back.

If your ROAS drops below 1.5 for six hours straight, pause the ad set and regroup. The worst thing you can do during peak times is brute-force performance. Instead, move that spend over to proven creatives or warm audiences.

6-Week Facebook Ads Playbook

Time to get your game face on with this 6-week playbook. The idea is to build momentum before the big weekend hits by warming up audiences and testing out which ads work best. It’s kind of like compounding interest. The earlier you look at data and encourage engagement, the cheaper it’ll be to scuffle for attention when the chaos starts.

Weeks 1 to 2: Seed and Prime

Objective: Make people aware of you, collect leads, and feed Meta’s hungry algorithm with clean, helpful data.

Start warming things up with 15-second video view campaigns and lead ads to grow your VIP or early-access list. Use low-spend campaigns here (we’re talking less than 10% of your total budget) to test out hooks, creative angles, and your offers in a low-pressure environment.

In terms of creatives, keep it light and native with organic UGC clips, product demos, and quick stories. At this point you want to really hone in on engagement, not conversions (although those are nice at any stage). Instead, aim to build retargeting pools based on video views and lead signups that you can use later.

Weeks 3 to 5: Warm and Test

Objective: Use earlier data to retarget warm audiences, refine your messaging, and identify what’s really converting.

This is essentially your creative testing phase and it involves a lot of heavy retargeting. Circle back to people who watched your videos or joined your VIP by split-testing three offers. For example, you might share a straight discount, a bundle, and a gift-with-purchase to see what people like most. Spend about 20% of your total budget here.

Creative-wise, consider testing a few different variations. Run A/B tests where you change one thing at a time (e.g. hook, overlay, offer) and keep the winners running. You can also duplicate the most effective creatives into new ad sets to test different angles.

Week 6: Early Access Launch

Objective: Go after that early BFCM revenue and reward your VIPs.

This is the time to give back to your best customers. Hit your VIP list with an early-access offer 24-48 hours before your public BFCM launch. Use cost-cap or bid-cap campaigns here to protect your profits while still aiming to convert a ton of people.

We recommend allocating around 25% of your total budget here. Your warm audiences should already be primed to buy at this point and your creatives have been tried and tested. So, this is your last chance to make your first big revenue push before competition spikes.

Black Friday Weekend: Scale the Winners

Objective: Really ramp up the volume of ads while making sure your ROAS stays steady.

Move your top performers into an Advantage+ Sales campaign (basically, Meta's AI-enabled setup for optimizing sales campaigns across audiences, placements, and budgets). Meta Blueprint currently uses “Advantage+ sales campaigns.”

At the same time, consider adding a heavy dose of urgency to your ads, with phrases like “ends tonight” or “just a few left”.

Put the bulk of your remaining budget here (roughly around 35-40%) but don’t be so rigid that you can’t change things up if something drastic happens. And, like before, if your ROAS dips below 1.5 for more than a few hours, pause it and reallocate that spend.

Tip: Don’t pause what’s already converting. Keep evergreen winners running alongside your BFCM ads.

Cyber Monday: Cross-Sell and Close

Objective: End the shopping weekend in style by extending your revenue window and squeezing out the last conversions.

This is your final opportunity to do the whole “last chance” dance. Hit recent buyers with complementary offers (e.g. relevant accessories, bundles, upgrades) and reuse proven creative with refreshed, urgent overlays — think “final hours” and “don’t miss it” kind of wording.

Spend whatever you have left from your total budget (usually around 5-10%) to clear out inventory and give any fence-sittings a final nudge.

10 BFCM Facebook Ad Examples to Copy

Every brand floods the feed in November, but the ones that stand out use a few tried-and-tested tricks. Here are some common ad examples you can copy this BFCM.

1. Countdown Carousel

Use a carousel ad that literally counts down the days (“3 days to go,” “2 days left,” “Ends tonight”). Each frame can spotlight a different product or deal tier.

Why it works: Builds anticipation day-by-day and buys into BFCM urgency.

2. Early-Access Lead Ad

Run a lead ad offering early access to your sale (e.g. “Sign up for 24-hour VIP access”). Pair it with a simple image or looping product teaser.

Why it works: You build a warm audience to retarget later, and it makes loyal fans feel special.

3. Influencer Whitelisted Story (Partnership Ad Story)

Run a Partnership Ad through a creator’s handle using a short, selfie-style Story or Reel. Keep it raw, authentic, and under 15 seconds.

Why it works: Feels native, boosts trust, and gets better engagement than brand-handle ads.

Partnership Ads add creator identity and social proof to paid creative. Meta reports that adding Partnership Ads to business-as-usual campaigns delivered 19% lower CPA and 13% higher CTR on average.

4. UGC Review Reel

A 10–15 second customer or creator clip showing how they use a product or their opinion of it with your offer at the end.

Why it works: It combines social proof with a rundown of your product so shoppers know what to expect.

Magic Curve’s seasonal ads include a creator sharing a comparison of two of the brand’s products.

5. Limited-Stock Single Image

Use a bold, clear product image to tell shoppers there’s only a limited number of your bestsellers in stock. You can use phrases like “final few left” or “almost gone” to add urgency to it.

Why it works: It’s simple but effective and plays on the massive pull of FOMO.

6. Mystery Discount Video

Tease a “spin the wheel” or “reveal your discount” mechanic in a short clip. Drive traffic to a landing page or email sign-up where shoppers can get the code.

Why it works: Who doesn’t love to “win” something? This tactic combines basic human curiosity with gamification so you can get more click throughs.

7. Bundle Reveal Carousel

Showcase bundle tiers across carousel cards that each say something like “Save 10% / Save 20% / Save 30%.”

Why it works: Encourages shoppers to buy more when they can see the discount going up.

He-Fashion gives bigger and bigger discounts the more products a shopper buys.

8. Price-Drop Meme

Pair a trending meme format (e.g. “me seeing my cart go from $300 to $210”) with a clear brand logo and CTA.

Why it works: Memes tend to blend into social feeds better because they’re relatable, so shoppers are more likely to stop and take notice.

9. Cross-Sell Collection Ad

Show related products (like “complete the set” or “pairs well with…”) using a collection ad format with shoppable tiles.

Why it works: Perfect for upsells during Cyber Weekend when AOV spikes.

10. Cyber Monday Last-Chance Reel

End your BFCM run with a fast-paced 10–15 second video that shows a final countdown timer, flashing “ends at midnight,” and a quick highlight reel of best-sellers.

Why it works: Capitalizes on FOMO while recycling proven creative.

Creative and Copy Tips For Your Ads

Cluttered, confusing, or just plain forgettable ads won’t work even if you have the best product or deal in the world. To give your Facebook ad creatives the best chance possible, make sure they’re clear and have an instant hook.

Here’s how to nail it.

Lead With the Offer

You have literally seconds to stop the scroll. Not long at all. Which means your offer needs to hit in the first three words, especially during BFCM when shoppers are eagle-eyed for the best deal.

Keep It Visual

A picture says a thousand words. We’ve all heard that saying, right?

Well, it’s never been truer during the busiest shopping holiday of the year. Aim for a 20/80 text ratio and make sure your ad looks like a post, not a snore-inducing PowerPoint presentation. Keep it simple with a clean product shot or a short demo, and keep copy to a minimum.

Stay on Brand, But Seasonal

Use your brand palette as your base and add a black accent frame or background to tie in with the season. Black Friday is chaotic by design (there’s not really a lot you can do about that), but there’s no need for your ads to feel off-brand.

Always Caption Your Videos

Keep captions on screen for clarity and accessibility, but don't design for silent viewing only. Meta says Reels default to sound-on and recommends vertical video with quality audio and key messages in the safe zone.

Avoid this faux pas by adding captions and keeping them big, bold, and high-contrast so they’re easy to read on even the smallest of screens.

Use Urgency in the Right Way

Save the over-the-top urgency cries (like “ends tonight” and “last chance”) for the final 48 hours. Overusing countdowns or flashy text can absolutely kill your credibility in seconds. Don’t fall into this trap by focusing on value early on. Try offering extra incentives (like bundles or exclusives) instead of leaning hard into the short timeframe of it all.

Launch Whitelisted Creator Ads with Insense

Whitelisted creator ads (also called Partnership Ads) let you run paid campaigns through a creator’s handle instead of your own.

You get the trust and engagement of influencer content with the powerful targeting chops of Meta ads, which is the perfect combo during BFCM when competition and ad fatigue are sky high.

Here’s how you can create whitelisted creator ads with Insense.

  • Set a clear brief. Define your goal, a core message, and what creative you want to show (demo? Unboxing? Before/after?). Don’t get too granular with the brief, as you want to give creators space to flex their skills.
  • Request modular footage. Ask creators to share multiple hooks, CTAs, and short clips so you can remix your assets later.
  • Approve and secure rights quickly. Keep things ticking forward by reviewing raw files, confirming usage terms, and approving content within Insense.
  • Set up whitelisting. In Insense, launch a “Meta Whitelisted Ads” campaign, connect your Ads Manager, and send creator access requests directly in the tool.
  • Run through creator handles. Build and publish Partnership Ads in Meta Ads Manager to build on creators pre-established trust and performance.
  • Monitor and scale your campaigns. Double down on your top realtors and rotate faces to keep things fresh. Then, extend permission on your creator campaigns so you can keep them running into Q5 for post-holiday sales.
